Patricia Rocha is a visual and photographic artist working primarily with medium and large format film photography. She is self-taught and has enjoyed creating in various diverse mediums since her youth. Her concentration lies in the conceptual portrait.
Biopic in nature, her photographs explore human identity and how identity is influenced by conditions of the mind. The series, Morning Walk, is a tender ongoing narrative which documents her ageing father, during the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease. Under the pseudonym Rose, Patti’s most recent conceptual portrait series, Anhedonia, narrates how identity is transformed by the conflicted subconscious. This poignant series depicts intense emotional struggles and is described as a raw cathartic documentation of visceral emotions.
Patti is a juried Associate Artist and Artist Representative at the Bakehouse Art Complex in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami, FL. You are welcome to visit her studio, located in the MADE at the Citadel complex, by appointment.
